S.C.O.L.D.M. statement:
The sun shines a little brighter in Sussex County today. The news of the demise of the Discovery Project is wonderful news and we hope we can put
this hideous blight on our town and our county to rest in the deep grave it deserves.

The entire community owes a great debt of gratitude to the Brohawn and Culver families and the 130 or so courageous supporters who sacrificed so much to fight for their families and properties. We congratulate them and thank them for the new friendships that were spawned by the terrible circumstances they faced. They were treated like mosquitos, but turned out to be eagles.

We wait now for the Court of Chancery's decision on the annexation of the properties. We fully expect a ruling in our favor early next year and look forward to a well deserved celebration.

Victory!
The developer of the horrendous Discovery Project near Laurel announced today that "We've put an end to Discovery Place as we had planned".

Here's a partial list of what we have defeated.
Over a million sq. ft. of retail space, an amusement park, a hotel w/ indoor water park, 1400 homes, a 12,000 seat sports arena, a 6000 seat baseball stadiun, an equestrian center, 12 soccer fields, six volleyball courts and nine baseball fields.

Their 500 acres dwindled to 120 when one of the landowners sold to another developer and the money dried up because of the lawsuit. The new developer
has not decided what to do with the land as of yet. We expect both developers will want some shopping centers and some homes, but nothing like the list mentioned above. We will keep a watchful eye in the coming months.
Also, we are still waiting for a court ruling regarding the annexations the town did which we believe are illegal. We expect a decision (in our favor of course!) sometime in February. We still need to raise funds
for the lawsuit.

Thank you, thank you thank you, to everyone who stood with us for the last year. Your support has paid off in a very big way. This is a gigantic blow to big development. Between Dewey Beach's success and this news big development is taking some blows. Maybe, for a few more years at least, we can catch a fish, clam or crab and eat it without checking with
the health department.

This is only the beginning. A fight we must win in order to help set a standard for the citizens in Sussex County. This will cost money for legal representation as well as awareness through media coverage and signs of support throughout Sussex County. This will only be possible with donations from supporters like you who are concerned not only with this project, but what could happen in your town, backyard, community as well.
